Your hair deserves a healthy foundation to flourish
Holistic Hair Care
Kelli Mosley

At age seven, my grandmother would press my hair in the kitchen using the professional pressing stove and thin tooth-pressing comb. My hair was virgin, thick, and strong. My mother didn’t have the know-how or patience to give my hair the care it deserved. After my grandmother did my hair, the completed look would be bone-straight waist-length hair. For years, my grandmother pressed my hair once a month until she retired as a hairdresser.
I was excited for my first salon experience around the age of 12. However, little did I know or at the time didn’t think to understand that my hair would never be the same. In one visit, my hair was permed. The stylist didn’t disclose what she was doing to my hair. For all my mother knew, it was a “deep conditioner”. Instantly, my hair was in the shampoo bowl going down the drain as the perm was being rinsed out. Of course, that situation destroyed the relationship between my mother and the stylist.
Here we were, off to the races again to find another stylist. Throughout the years, it has been a repeat of different traumas that took place in the salon environment. From a stylist saying I need to trim your ends, which turned into intentionally cutting off lots of inches (you know we work hard for our inches).
I need multiple shampoos because my hair needs to be separated into several sections. I’ve been told “I washed your hair twice already. You have a head full of hair. If you need another wash, it’s going to cost extra money because your hair is taking up too much product and time”.
I noticed once the “freshness” of a hairstyle wears off such as a silk press; I would see brittle strands, excessive shedding, and the harsh manipulation of my natural hair from the use of heat tools and products that weren’t a good fit for my texture. From childhood to adulthood, I have found myself searching for that special someone to care for my hair. The 20-minute or less shampoo, sitting under a dryer with a deep conditioner for 10-15 minutes, or giving me a steam treatment with a product I have no idea about was no longer acceptable.
Over the years, I always bring my hair back to double the thickness and length after a hair trauma episode. People who knew me would see the different stages and phases of my natural hair journey. I would get questioned “who does your hair, what is your routine, how does your hair grow so fast, can you do my hair the way you do yours, text me a picture of the products you use? The questions would go on and on and on until I found myself doing hair consultations and hair care because of my results-driven passion I have for people and their hair. I absolutely LOVE it!
It dawned on me; all these years I was looking for something that isn’t popular, trendy, or a standard in the hair industry which is Quality Hair Care! That special someone I was searching for was ME!
After seeing numerous client results that have turned into lasting relationships, sisterhood development, becoming an integral part of little girls’ and boys’ hair care, my Deeply Rooted hair oil that men purchase for the growth of their beard and hair loss due to aging, Experience True Solutions LLC was born. Utilizing my business degree as an HR Operations Manager and building a personal financial planning company was no longer serving my soul.
Although I’ve been into Holistic Hair, Health, and Wellness for the past 12 years; my interest and certifications in holistic hair healing took me down a path, with a divine purpose, and a love for hair care that is unexplainable.
